Antique Victorian Easter Egg Decoration
Early blown glass Easter egg sealed and flattened on the base so it can be stood on end to display the etched inscription in old German dialect: Euer Leben triebe nie ein Leud, Mit Rosen Sey Ihner Weeg bestreut -  translates roughly: Your life may never be aggrieved but all your paths shall be covered by roses. There is a picture etched that shows the "Agnus Dei" - Lamb of God, one of  earliest symbol of Christianity for Jesus Christ.  The etchings are filled in with gold ink. It is clear glass without any silvering on the inside. Please view other images for condition details. Approx. 2 3/8" tall
