Outstanding Winterscene - Smoker Santa 1920
Outstanding scenery with a smoker Santa - Santa sits in the wood where he feeds a couple of fawns and a little squirrel. All pieces are composition and the three animals are even flocked and with beautifully handpainted features, white flakes on the back and painted ears. The scenery is mounted on a wooden plattform which looks to be in the middle of the wood with pine branches/sprigs. A fnce surrounds the edges and in the back there are like tree trunks that actually have candle holders on top of them. The trunk in the middle has a pice broken of to the bottom. Santa sits on a metal chair where you can put an insence cone at. Santa looks like a primitivly made piece with not so much detail. He has a big hole as moth where smoke comes out when cone is lit up. His right foot shows wear and the right arm shows a very slight repair. This is a very unusual antique Christmas decoration that you don't find very often. Please check out the picture by the link for more product information. Approx. 9¼" wide x 5" deep x 6¼" high German origin ca. 1930ies
